About This Project

Issue: Sustainable Remodel. The owner and designer wanted to move flat wood veneer panels installed 20 years earlier on a new radius wall behind the reception desk. Scoring the back of the panels was not an option. It would crack the aged veneer.

Solution: Railset fabricated the horizontal rails to perfectly match the radius on the wall. All the hardware was preassembled off-site. Starting after the offices closed – about 6pm – the Railset hardware was completely installed by 8:30pm. The frames bridged all the irregularities on the drywall. Panel installation followed the horizontal rails with just a slight adjustment on each panel cleat maintaining the radius of the wall for a perfectly aligned installation. The installers acknowledged, working with traditional furring strips would have taken 8 hours just to prep the wall.
